I got a beautiful Delta Tail Male Betta the day before yesterday, and I still can’t think of a good name for him.
The problem is that he’s so pretty that I keep thinking of girly names, like Dragonfly, or Firefly.
We got him as a friend for the black crowntail betta that I got on Saturday, who I named Shadow. I was so excited when I saw a black betta in the store that I had to get him.

And of course he needs a friend, right?
Right now both bettas are in separate tanks on my desk- it’s so much fun to see them both swimming around while I’m working.
Shadow is in a 2 gallon tank with a moss ball and a cave, and the unnamed betta is in a 1 gallon tank with a plant.
I do have a divider put up so they can’t see each other all of the time, I don’t want to stress them out too much.
What do you think I should name the unnamed betta?
Jeff has voted for Boxer as in Shadow Boxer, but I don’t like that.
Any suggestions?

I think Firefly would be the perfect name and doesn’t sound girly to me at all, then again I am a girl named Alex, which is usually a boy’s name….
But really, dragonfly or firefly seem like they could be gender neutral names.

Thanks Alex, and welcome!
I’m kind of leaning towards Dragonfly, but we’ll see.
LOL, how long does it usually take people to name their fish?
