I’ve got lots to tell you – but I don’t have time right now.
The old discus fry are doing great, and getting bigger – and we have a new batch of discus fry, the eggs hatched yesterday.
Things are going to get pretty interesting here soon.
Jeff moved the parents when he noticed that the male seemed irritated and was shaking himself to get the fry to fall off him.
They’d fall off and swim right back too him, so Jeff decided that it was time to move the parents.
We’d heard that if the parents are ready to spawn again they might eat the fry, and we didn’t want that to happen.
Now everyone is wondering how we’ll be able to find homes for all of the fry, but I’m sure we’ll figure out something.

We’ve got more discus eggs – and the current batch of discus is doing great.
We haven’t noticed any dead fry, but they’re already chasing each other around and nipping at each other – or at least one of them is.
I was surprised it started so early.
What’s going on in your fish tank?

Jeff just went downstairs and freaked out because he couldn’t see any of the discus fry.
Finally he called and said they were on the mom!
Yay!
This is the first time we’ve seen them attached to the parents.
In all the pictures the fry are just sticking on the parents sides but there were about 10 fry swarming around the female, and one on her side.
They looked like a bunch of bees flying around and over the female.
It looked so cool!
I’m still scared that the adults will eat the fry if I watch them to long so I try not to go down there too much.
Jeff is trying to figure out if we should leave the parents with the fry, or move the parents or the fry to another tank.
I told him it’s up to him.
I’m so excited.
