Have you ever gotten a corpse when you were expecting fish?

Posted by Sarah on March 11, 2009

Pets Plus in Philadelphia did.

Apparently a corpse that was supposed to go to a research center because the man had donated his body to science was sent to a pet store instead.

I first heard about this on the radio, and I can’t imagine believing that that fish came in a box large enough to hold a coffin.

Of course I’ve seen live fish boxes, so I might have an advantage over some people, but not the pet store employees.

I also can’t imagine how freaked out I would be if I opened a box that I thought was fish, and found a dead man.

Although some reports make it seem like the box was opened, NBC Philadelphia says the box wasn’t opened because it had “Human Remains” on the box, so nobody wanted to open it.

I can’t blame them.

I just can’t imagine this happening.

Can you?

Doctor Fish

Posted by Jeff on July 22, 2008

Has anyone seen anything about these Doctor fish that eat dead skin off of peoples feet?

A spa that does it just opened up in America and I am wondering what other people think about it. They say each person gets fresh water that these fish get put into with a pair of feet.

I just don’t think it could be all that good for the fish.

What do you think?

Fish in Space

60 baby cichlids will be blasted off into space to help study motion sickness in humans on the space shuttle.

I wonder what kind of cichlids there are?

It’s raining fish!

Posted by Sarah on

From ‘Fish rain’ takes Kerala villagers by surprise:

Residents of Kandanassery village near here were quite surprised when small fish started raining down towards the end of a sudden downpour on Monday night.

The phenomenon was first noticed by two persons when the little slimy things started pattering on their body while they were returning home late in the night.

Can you imagine?

I would freak out if it started raining fish!

I don’t know if I’d be smart enough to put some of them in a bucket for proof, either.

Of course there’s an explanation – the fish were probably lifted into the atmosphere when convective clouds formed, and because of the moisture content they were able to survive.

It still doesn’t sound pleasant, does it?
