Dwarf puffers must have live food to live. They will not thrive on any prepared or dried food. I keep mine in a tank with thousands of cardinal shrimp and they feed on the babies. I also give them pond snails that I culture in a different tank.

Hi Yulian, puffers will eat mosquito larvae, but I don't think that mosquito larvae by itself will be enough to wear his teeth down.

Have you tried freeze dried krill, live or frozen and thawed shrimp, or live snails?

Puffers will ususally eat those foods with gusto, although we had to move the krill around at first until our figure 8 puffer got used to earting it.
