New Green Spotted Puffers
Posted by Sarah on February 4, 2010
I finally gave in and got 2 green spotted puffers from the only local store we haven’t tried yet.
The fish looked healthy when we were there, so we waited a few days, and went back and got 2.
We couldn’t find someone from the fish department to help us, and the person we found wouldn’t let us pick out the fish, so we ended up with one that died the night we got it home.
The other fish seems to be doing well in our 55 gallon tank, but I have seen a little blackness on his belly.
I really hope this guy makes it.
Of course he’s not going too.
While I was writing this post we had company – after they left I went to feed the fish, and the puffer is dead.
Fish can be so depressing sometimes.

Wow, I know that hurts. One of the sweetest Little fish with an attitude, ever!
I have had one for three months now and is doing great so far. Pet eats live snails, blood worms, flakes, feeding frenzy, small guppies.
He is now about 3″ long and we got him at about 1 3/4″
I have his specific gravity at 1.004 and am moving him slowly to a 100.5 -100.8 with a ph of 7.5
30% water changes everl week and he is in a tank alone of 16 gal.
He has nipped at my hand and fingers several times while I was moving around his decore to keep him ingaged in his sourroundings but he has never hert me. I gess he just wan’ts a little tast to see what I am, (Love kiss).
Don’t give up! Studie there uniqite needs as best you can and try and try again until you can have sucsess with the GSP. It’s a fish thats worth it!
I have not been on here for some time now, with my own crazy life to get right so let me give you two thumbs up on the new baby. All My Best, Jay Kite
