A. Australe Eggs
Posted by Sarah on September 30, 2008
We have 6 A. australe “spotless” eggs, and 1 A. australe “chocolate” egg.
Yay!
We still have to get some peat moss for the Nothobranchius, because they don’t usually spawn in mops.
I’m excited, and Jeff is really excited.
The A. australe “spotless” is a beautiful orange fish that we both wanted to get at the Killifish show.
One of them was doing flips in the bag on the auction table. It would swim up to the top, then slide back down throughtout the speakers presentation.
Poor thing.
Anyway – hopefully we will have baby killies soon.
From what I understand these eggs can remain in water, they don’t have to be dried out to hatch, so we should have fry in about 14 days.
I’ve read several times that killie eggs are light sensitive, so I’m not going to take any photos of the eggs.
If you’ve got experience with, or questions about A. australe leave a comment!
